When it comes to industrial salt, you might ask: What is industrial salt? What are the uses of industrial salt? Now let's explain

Soft water salt manufacturers tell you what industrial salt is and its role in the building materials industry

Everyone may know that industrial salt is absolutely inedible, but what exactly is industrial salt? Industrial salt is merely used as a raw material for chemical products. To me, it feels similar to colorants and the like. Industrial salt is widely used in industry and is known as the "mother of chemical engineering". The main products of basic chemicals, such as hydrochloric acid, caustic soda, soda ash, ammonium chloride and chlorine gas, are mainly produced from industrial salt.

Chemical products such as chlorine, bleaching powder, caustic soda, and industrial salt alkali are produced in the chemical industry with chlorine and sodium as the main components of salts. Edible "salt" and industrial "salt" have the same chemical composition, but their uses are different.

Application in the building materials industry

Soda ash made from industrial salt is the main raw material for the production of glass.

2. To eliminate bubbles in molten glass, a certain amount of clarifying agent must be added. Industrial salt is also a common component of clarifying agents, with the amount of salt being approximately 1% of the glass melt.

3. Generally, coarse pottery, ceramic bricks and earthenware jars all require industrial salt as a glazing agent. The salt consumption per cubic meter of pottery is 0.5 to 3 kilograms.

4. To enhance the performance of enamel, some enamel additives need to be added before enameling. Salt is an enamel additive used for surface glazing to enhance the strength of the powder body and improve the resistance to scratches and wear after enamel production. The maximum salt content per 100 kilograms of glaze slurry is 0.3 kilograms.

5. Industrial salt production waste residue (salt gypsum), calcium and magnesium mud produced by brine purification!
